A serious
international political umbrella group for
advocates of cannabis law reform
Working together towards cannabis pro-legislation
worldwide Oregon State
Broadly speaking,
across the USA, cannabis is referred to as
"marijuana." For the sake of convention, we
therefore use the word "marijuana" in this
article when referring to any part of the
cannabis plant that is used by individuals.
Possession of less than one ounce is a civil
violation which can carry up to a $500 fine.
Amounts between one ounce and 110 grammes are a
Class B felony and can carry up to 10 years in
prison and up to a $100,000 fine. Amounts
over 110 grammes are a felony and have a
variable sentence, depending on defendant's
prior convictions.

"Fifty-five
percent of Oregon voters approved Measure 67
on November 3, 1998. The law took effect on
December 3, 1998. It removes state-level
criminal penalties on the use, possession
and cultivation of marijuana by patients who
possess a signed recommendation from their
physician stating that marijuana "may
mitigate" his or her debilitating symptoms."

Discusses Legalization and Regulation of
Marijuana
Initiatives Hoping for
Legalisation in 2012
"The
Oregon Cannabis Tax Act 2012 is a citizen’s
initiative campaign to regulate marijuana
and restore hemp. Just as ending alcohol
prohibition and regulating that market has
protected society, regulating marijuana will
help wipe out crime. Drug cartels and gangs
will lose significant funding when we
regulate marijuana and take the criminal
element out this market. Restoring hemp,
made from the seeds and stems of the
marijuana plant for fuel, fiber and food,
will put Oregon on the cutting edge of
exciting new sustainable green industries
and create untold multitudes of new jobs.
